Coming in 2025, a treasure trove of self-knowledge!
Understanding what makes us tick, how we can learn to manage our tricky brains and lots more.
Hello Substackers,
I am just popping into your inbox, just for a moment or two!
You may have seen the ‘library’ tab that is totally empty and wondered what that is for or if I just put it there by accident!
It was very intentionally put there but I did forget to send this out!!
In the new year, the library, is going to be the ‘techy’ part of this publication. The theory, the neuro-science, terminology, tricks to help us outsmart our tricky brains, (understanding what a tricky brain is even), why evolution plays such a big part in humans today, how we can learn to be fairer to ourselves, put a hand up to our self-critic and anything you would like to know about. What is the difference between self-confidence and self-esteem? how does self-esteem get formed in the first place? Why do we have self doubt and what is it? What are emotions all about? Why are some emotions more difficult than others? Is there any such thing as a ‘negative emotion’? Why do we feel anxiety? The list is endless.
I will endeavour to put it in a library A-Z format (I need to learn how to do that!) so that you can look things up easily. You might hear someone talk about fight or flight and want to know more about it, or what are core beliefs and so on. It will be a work in progress and so I would ask for your patience!
In planning this, I would very much love to hear about anything you would like to understand more about in relation to how we feel about ourselves and how we perceive our world, ie, self-esteem. My belief is that, self-esteem is the foundation for being human. It will really help me plan this out to make it helpful for you and for others.
I will start a chat thread for this post, and you can comment from here too or send me a message.
I have had a passion for helping people to understand what makes them tick so that they can feel happy with themselves, understand what they are about and like that about themselves (what a feeling that is!). This in turn creates contentment, confidence and belief in our abilities. Along with acceptance of the learning we all can do as humans to overcome adversity. It also creates a flexible way of approaching the world that improves our mental and physical health.
Please do join me in this quest as a collaboration, it help us, our family, our kids, our friends, in fact any human we come into contact with. It is a little bit of magic we can use for ourselves and spread around a bit 🪄
Looking forward to hearing from you.
With warm wishes,
Jane
