What is this publication about?
Most of us are fascinated by what makes us tick. What makes us react in the way that we do. Why do we get anxious, why do we worry, why can’t we stop! Why do we at times thrive and feel great and at other times feel like shit and feel not good enough, fear people don’t like us and that we are doing things wrong.
Who this publication is not for:
Anyone who does not like the occasional swear word.
Anyone who has no interest in what makes them tick as a human.
Anyone who has no curiosity about how they can improve their relationship with themselves.
Those who don’t feel being proactive with their mental health is important. Even if, currently you are in a pretty good place.
Who this publication is for (not an exhaustive list):
Anyone who is is interested in what self-esteem is.
If you are interested in the relationship between self-esteem and how it effects you day to day.
If you would like to learn about what worrying is and how to manage it in a more helpful way.
If you love taking ideas, making them your own and trying out new things.
Ways to positively build self-esteem and self-confidence
Learn how to be proactive with your self-esteem to have balanced and healthy mental health.
My aim is to, over time, help you understand what makes you tick, why humans experience the things they do (the good, the uncomfortable and everything in-between) and how to manage the more difficult bits of being human, our tricky brains!

Other gems here are:
Nugget podcasts!
The hub has short and snappy podcasts with ideas, things to think about and try out. I have called them nuggets, as they are just that, little nuggets of, I hope! - wisdom, try this one:
Why short and snappy? Because I know you are busy, and it is hard to take in tonnes of ideas at once! I aim to provide a 21st Century, evidence based (from psychology and neuroscience) answer to understanding ourselves!
Journaling ideas
Some of the ways I think about things - articles
and coming soon, the library!
I hope you enjoy exploring and I am always adding new things.

Who the heck am I?
I am Cognitive Psychotherapist and I am on a mission to help anyone who is interested, to learn how to be fairer to themselves, embrace and truly believe in their strengths and not fear trying things out from fear of failure!
I believe that our self-esteem is the foundation of how we see ourselves and how we fit into the world and how the world sees us. A window, you could say, thru which we look. That window can be clear and true, or misted or so dirty we can have a dark view of ourselves and everything else.
Self-esteem is also a bit of a roller-coaster. We can have highs and lows with it, depending on what situation we find ourselves in. The library (coming in 2025) and podcasts will look at this in more detail.
I believe that everyone has the right to feel confident and believe in their abilities.
This is me! excited about all this!!!
This is me, and I very excited about building this publication and all the people I am going to meet on this journey.
Where am I?
I am writing from my little corner in our daughter’s room. I ‘borrow’ it as she is all grown and lives independently. She lives far away from us, which makes me sad, in London, whilst we are currently way far north, almost as far north as you can in the UK, just for now. I miss her. I am looking through the French doors at our half cultivated garden, it is a distraction as it calls me to tend to it all the time. I have an Irish Setter, Riley, sleeping on my feet, softly snoring. Tally the Cat on her bed on my desk, snoozing. It is calming to me to focus on these moments of peace, their peace, makes me peaceful.
My village by the ocean with my partner, and this guy below, Riley (our big red dog) and 2 maine coon cats.
Do you think he is saying take a break and take me walkies?
I think I have lived quite a varied and interesting life. I have tried out many things, some of which have felt meaningful and fun and some things I have just learnt from. Often, about how not to do things! I believe the word ‘mistake and failure’ should be removed from the English language. I don’t think there is any such thing, just trying things out and sometimes it works out and sometimes not, but it is learning. I believe that everyone should be treated with respect, like we would want to be treated ourselves. I believe in kindness and fairness, both towards others but also towards OURSELVES.
I believe everyone deserves to be heard and not judged. Lets swap judgement for curiosity, when we are curious we learn about others and what makes them tick so we can then understand, rather than judge, be critical, harsh and spiteful. We don’t have to be everyone’s friend and for sure, not everyone is going to want to be our friend, that is natural and ok. It is not a reflection of us as a person. I have to work at that as well. Just because we don’t agree with each other, does not mean we have to hate each other, or be mean, does it? These things are very important to me and the values on which this community is built on. Naturally, this will appeal to some and not others, but that is ok.
Why Substack?
I have chosen to use Substack, in essence a digital magazine, as my platform to write newsletters, share knowledge via articles, podcasts, ‘nuggets’, coaching groups and the like as I feel it offers so much more value that just a webpage mailing list subscription.
Where to start I hear you say (having a bit of a rebrand at the moment from Floreo to the ‘the self-esteem hub’? here:
